Mila is becoming even more independent and currently wants to do most things on her own. Some mornings I will walk into the kitchen and find the milk already on the counter and her patiently waiting in her chair for me to pour her a glass. She insists on picking out her own clothes and dressing herself, which just spilled over to her jammies as well so we had to move those down to her level so she can choose those as well.
Mila had her first ever ear infection this month and was on antibiotics for about a day before I stopped giving them to her and she was back to her normal self 24 hours later. She enjoyed the doctor's visit and the princess attire the nurses gave her.
Now that school is out for the summer (technically...Mila still goes but it's less learning and more fun) she has been spending extra time with my parents while they are in town and the girls went for their first overnight trip to Palmdale to stay with Grandma and Grandpa.
While they were there Mila missed Lexi's birthday party so one night before she left we had her over to our house for a special birthday dinner (homemade pizzas!) and cupcakes. It was so cute seeing the two of them play together, they are such great friends.
Mila's summer activity is swim lessons and SHE LOVES IT. She went from wanting to play on the steps of the pool to jumping in, going underwater and backfloats and we are only four lessons in! She asks every day if she gets to go to swim lessons and is so excited. She's definitely going to be a little fish.
Nellie is still a crazy little goose but has the happiest grin on her face at all times. She gives the world's best side eye and a moment later will erupt into a nose crinkling grin. She gets her point across by throwing herself on the ground and then will bounce up and give you a hug. You seriously can't be around her without laughing basically all the time. She loves music and dancing and skipping around like she's riding a imaginary horse.
Nellie's summer activity is Yoganastics every Tuesday morning with daddy; can't wait for some cute pictures of that!
She is still obsessed with balls and is continuing to communicate more. She has such a personality, loves being chased, laughing and eating. She is currently obsessed with wearing a Frozen dress up outfit and usually pairs it with a magenta/blue scarf or a hat; if we're lucky, both ;)
While the girls were in Palmdale Robert and I flew to Minnesota to see Whitney. She has been so amazing and has been out our way like 6 times since I had Mila, which I SO appreciate for since it's hard to get away when you have little kids. When it was finally time for us to get away on our own I couldn't have been happier when Robert suggested we go there (he said it before me!). We had such a blast and it was so so so great spending so much time with her in HER city this time :)
Other notables this month: Robert had a great Father's Day's and ran a Torch Run for Special Olympics. I did Painting with a Twist for the first time and had a blast!
