2 Down, 7 to go

This week I am 8 weeks pregnant. 2 months.  3 complete weeks since I first found out.  Is it just me or is time moving soooo slooooowly??? The good news is that I feel FANTASTIC. Still no morning sickness, only a little bit of nausea if I don't eat right when I start getting hungry. I haven't had any weird cravings yet and only one aversion: scrambled eggs. Not really throwing a wrench in my daily diet yet.

Frequently Asked Questions so far:
1. Are you going to find out the sex? Yes we are. I have a nursery to plan!
2. When are you going to make it Facebook official? After the first trimester
3. Have you thought of any names? Well, the only boy names I like are Milo (Robert: that's a cat from a Disney movie) and Oliver (Robert: that's stupid).  So...back to the drawing board.

Month 2: I've gained 1lb so far (but I did have ice cream for lunch so that could be the culprit).  You can't tell, but I am wearing makeup. I might need to hire hair/makeup person for the next month. Just call me the next Real Housewive of Orange County.

1st Doctor's Appt

I had my first doctor's appointment this week and it all went great.  They gave us our official due date of 10/2/12, confirmed my uterus is growing on schedule and confirmed it is not an ectopic (fallopian tube) pregnancy.  I am going into my 7th week this week and still no morning sickness, fingers crossed this has all bypassed me :)

Our due date just happens to be the anniversary of our best friend couple, Bryan and Shawna.  Soul friends!  AND Also, we had Chinese food brought to work last Monday and my fortune was:  "Your happiest most memorable dream will come true within the year."  This baby is sending me signs already!

Next appointment: March 1st at 11am

Baby on Board!

I decided to start this blog because we live away from 96% of our family and friends and I wanted to make sure that everyone was as much a part of our family as they want to be.  I am definitely not one of those people that overloads Facebook with all of our personal crap so a blog seemed like a good way to go; that way you can check in as often (or as little) as you like.

Last Sunday, after dropping my friends off at the airport, I found out I'M PREGNANT!  So I guess that tecnically means "we're pregnant" but unless Robert is planning on gaining 30lbs, not drinking coffee and staying away from microwaves, I'm going to stick with the "I'm."

I found out around 1pm, and of course this would be the one Sunday in the month that Robert was working, so he wouldn't be home until 6pm. After making phone calls to a few very close friends and my sister, I decided I needed a fun way to tell Robert.  Don't worry, I got it all on video.

Pretty funny don't you think? And if that didn't melt your heart or make you laugh, this defintiely will.  I don't think Roscoe realized what was happening, that I am WITH CHILD.  For those of you who don't think dogs can understand what humans are saying, I beg to differ.

So now that our immediate family knew the news we next told my parents and Robert's parents.  They were all, obviously, ecstatic with the good news.  I have my first doctor's appointment this Thursday and after that I will need to tell a few of my other best friends and my grandmas, then we will most likely wait to make any kind of announcement until after the first trimester, just to be safe.

According to the Google search I immediately made, I am 6 weeks pregnant this week, due around the first of October.  Overall I have felt excellent, and if I didn't miss my period I probably wouldn't even know I am pregnant. I haven't had any morning sickness, I've only had minimal cramping and one case of (very bad) heartburn. Robert has been AMAZING, always agreeing with me, telling me to sit down and relax and not allowing me do anything. At this rate we might end up with 14 kids because I might want to be pregnant for the rest of my life!

I will leave you with my first month belly picture (next time I'll make sure to wear makeup).  And no, I haven't gained any weight yet so don't make any fat jokes!
