Happy 8 months Mila!
8 Month Stats
Weight: 19 pounds (est)
Length: 27 inches (est)
Eating: Since trying chicken for the first time last month you have had beef, lamb and pork but hands down, your favorite protein so far is liver! So gross! I was gagging while making it but you nearly licked the jar clean every time you had it. Just wait until I tell you this when you are 12 years old :)
Bedtime: You've come a long way this month and are now going down very easily for both dad AND me! 90% of the time we put you down in your crib awake, kiss you goodnight and you flip over onto your stomach and you're out.

Awake: You started crawling all over this past week and there's no stopping you. You will still sit and play with your toys for a little bit but then you're off, exploring the whole house. We are rushing to baby proof and have already lowered your crib because you are pulling up in there too.
Naps: Like bedtime, you are napping pretty well now too. If we miss your sleepy cues or you stay up too late, though, you make us work for it.
Diapers: still in Size 2 Pampers Swaddlers. I did just buy the Size 3s though.
Clothes: you've just about outgrown your 6-9mo sleepers, this time not because of length but because of your chubby little belly! You are still wearing 6mo clothes but I've started pulling out some 6-9mo clothes as well.
Favorites: your toys keep your attention in the morning, when they are still "new," but you would rather crawl around than sit still. Roscoe's toys are your most favorite things right now and you love nearly getting them in your mouth (especially his elk bone!) before we gasp and take them away.
I celebrated my first Mother's Day this past month and it was great. Unfortunately Dad had to work but you spent the day with me and then we went and met him for dinner. There are no other two people in the world I would have rather spent the day with.
This month you also went over to your babysitter's for the first time. I met Kerry through my mom's group and we clicked right away. Come to find out, she was a recent stay at home mom and was looking to watch another baby and I needed someone to watch you. It's such a great situation because her daughter, Kira, is only two months younger than you so you can grow up together!
Sadly, though, Kerry has informed me that you are the bully older sister who takes toys away from Kira! Just wait, she's not going to be little for long and she's going to fight back!
This week she took you to a picnic in the park with all the other babies! She's like super mom I tell you.
Each stage with you just keeps getting cuter than the last; just when I think you're as cute as can be you get a little bit cuter. You are blabbering so much more now and pairing consonants with vowels. You make the funniest face expressions and have a little bit of spunk to you. We love you so much; I've even got daddy calling you Mimi now too :)

Development: this month was a big one: you started crawling, picking up food and putting it in your mouth, standing with help, pulling up to your knees and saying "da da" for the first time. Just yesterday you started pulling up, by yourself, on the baby gate, your crib and our ottoman.
Dear Little Mila,
You are 2/3 of the way to being a 1 year old...and I don't like it one bit! You are so funny and have started to notice when you are doing something wrong, but you still try to do it anyways! For example, we have caught you numerous times trying to climb OUT of the bathtub! You also only crawl, full speed ahead, when you see something you can't have (i.e. Roscoe's bones or toys or any pair of sunglasses).
You're such a big girl that you now fit in the sitting part (?) of the stroller and don't necessarily need the car seat. You can't see it here but you love leaning back and kicking your feet up on the cup holder tray...ah, the life.
You still love swim lessons and swam like a little fish when we went on vacation.
Dad was so excited to buy you a seat for his bike and a little bike helmet and he can't wait to take you out riding.

Some days you just play at Kerry's house and other days she takes you on walks with our mom's group.
