Nellie is doing AMAZING at school. Apparently she was needing some structure in her life because as soon as we moved her over from preschool to the school side it's been a night and day difference. She loves going to school and learning and, overall, acting like a big kid. She has a great teacher and we get daily emails home detailing exactly what they do every day (which is amazing!).
Mila had a bigger transition to make, leaving Grace behind and starting a brand new school. Luckily, one of her best friends from Grace, Jillian, also made the move over to Hope View and she is in her class. It has taken some time for her to meet new friends, especially during the after school "Kids Club," but we're coming up on a month into school and I think she's settling in. She loves her teacher, which is great, but I do miss the daily emails...I never know what she's up to!
Nellie has started gymnastics and seems to like it so far. Unlike all of the other things she has tried (ballet, dance, singing, soccer, etc.) she hasn't asked to quit yet, so that's good news!
Mila is still doing soccer, which we are all eager for to end, but she has started basketball as well and absolutely loves it. She's been shooting around in the backyard with daddy and Uncle G for months and asked to try a class, which is sort of like a clinic, focusing on dribbling, shooting, defending, etc.
I can't believe she's already 7 years old! For her birthday party this year she asked to get her nails done with her friends and them have them over to our house to watch TV together (ha!).
She specifically asked if they would be sitting in the big, pedicure chairs, but I wasn't sure...she was super happy when we got to the salon and her dream came true! All the girls got their fingers and toes done and got designs on both as well.
She has been asking to do art lessons for a couple of months now, but it's just too hard to work into our schedule. Luckily, Hope View offers extracurricular activities, hosted at the school, and Art Explorers was one of the options. She is working on an oil painting right now and says it's so much fun.
Per usual we have Alyssa's birthday party the same weekend as well...I can't believe these two little loves:
We ended the month with a camping trip to Crystal Cove for Robert's birthday...where Nellie learned how to ride her bike without training wheels...go Nell!
What we're looking forward to in October: Halloween...Mila is being a police officer and Nellie is being She-Ra!
