Happy 10th Months!

Happy 10 months Mila!

10 Month Stats

Weight: i forgot to do this and she's already in bed...oops
Length: i forgot to do this and she's already in bed...oops

Eating: you're such a good eater and meals are getting much easier.  you're now able to eat pretty much whatever we eat cut into small bites.  you're still getting 5 bottles a day and we have added solids (normal food) for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

pancakes!

Bedtime: we have finally reached the point where we lay you down to sleep and you don't cry, you play for a little and then put yourself to sleep. and let me tell you, it's glorious!

Awake: you're able to stay awake for two hours at a time before you need a nap. you are such a doll in the morning when you wake up and are so happy.

Naps: you're still taking two naps a day and go down the same during the day (even for me!) as you do at night.

Diapers: size 3s.

Clothes: you're in 9mo clothes right now but some of them are getting a little snug and it's time to pull out the 9-12mo clothes. it's hard to imagine the next set of nightclothes you will move into are 2 pieces! you're getting so big!

Favorites: you are sort of over all of your toys, except your Vamos A Comer book and your Barney music thing.  you would much rather crawl all over the house, and have even learned how to push open the screen door to the back patio so we have to keep a close eye on you.

You still love bath time and sometimes I think you would stay in there all night if we let you.

Development: shockingly you aren't walking yet but you have mastered the stand and can now stand from a squat without using anything to pull up. Daddy bought you a walker toy and you took your first steps with it but still prefer crawling.

besides clapping you're also waving bye-bye and will give a high 5 if you're in the mood.  you still have three teeth in but three more are coming in.

you aren't really a fan of a sippy cup but you love a straw!
you pulled yourself up using Roscoe's collar and were greeted with a large liiiiiiiick

Little Mila,

Well, it's officially Mimi, you have now been outside of your mom's tummy longer than you were in it.  I can't believe how fast time is flying; I want it to slow down so I can take it all in but it's so fun to see what will happen next.

We got a video monitor this past month and it's so funny to watch you after we put you down since we thought you were sleeping!  You swing your monkey around by his tail, flop around like a fish, stand up and sit down a million times and so much more.  Last week, however, you did something that my heart will never forget.  You were standing at the side of your crib about to throw Monkey out and I came on the microphone (we can press a button and talk and you can hear it in your room) and said "Mila, let monkey go and lay down and go night night." You looked over in the direction of the camera (where my voice came from), dropped the monkey, crawled over and flopped onto your stomach and went right to sleep; it's like you knew I was there and all things were right with the world. Man, I'm almost tearing up just writing this!

This month I spent my first night away from you when I went on a girls trip to Temecula to go wine tasting.  It was really great to get in some much needed girl time but I missed my other girl dearly.

It really is true that it takes a village to raise a child! A huge, special thanks to Lindsay, Grandma and Grandpa for watching you so that I could get away.

cute as a button for Grandma
Kerry has been babysitting you down for two full months and she said that it's getting easier, so that's great news! I am so thankful that I was able to find someone that cares for you as her own and that she's turned into such a great friend.  I also love that you get to spend time with Kira and all the other babies from my mom's group even thought I can't be there.

You have such a little personality now and daddy has already said you're beginning to act like a diva.  You now seem to know when you shouldn't be doing something and when we tell you to stop you keep doing it.  You also have this new scream-cry thing that you do when we tell you no or you don't get your way.

One day daddy told me how you were cracking up when you were eating lunch and he would go to give you a bite and then he would pretend to eat it. Of course I wanted in on the giggles so I tried it that same night at dinner.  This is the reaction I got:

Obviously dad's jokes are not my jokes
You're becoming more independent and while, in the past you would stay near us and crawl around within our view, just in the last couple of days you have started crawling off and exploring the house on your own.  It's a little scary! One minute you will be right at my feet and the next I can't find you and I'm rushing around the house looking for you.

This is quite possibly the cutest video I have ever taken of you:

trying to climb up on the couch
You're at such a fun age now and I can tell your dad is so excited that you're able to interact back and can do all the fun things he dreamed about doing with you. He must've reminded me a million times to ask the doctor if your neck was strong enough to go on a bike ride and he was beside himself when I told him you were cleared for take-off (what?!).

Also this month, one of your future friends (husband?) was born.  Lori, one of mommy's best friends, gave birth to little Harrison (Sonny) Andrew Rapoff on July 20th. He's her mini-me and I can't wait to see the two of you together.

We received this in the mail from Great Grandma Bunker and Great Grand Pop, you're pretty much famous in Helendale!

You're becoming such a little person and we love you more every single day. I can't believe I am starting to plan a 1st Birthday for you, it just doesn't seem possible.

my two favorite goofballs
We love you so much little lady.

Love,
Mommy

Happy 3rd Birthday Roscoe!

Hey Roskie, it's your birthday!!!!  Happy 3rd birthday to my favorite dogson!!!  Our lives would be so much calmer, quieter and less slobbery if you weren't in it but we wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for being so lovable, cute, snuggle-y and such a great friend to Mila.  We love you so much!

these moments are fewer now so i relish them when they happen
