Today we had our 3D/4D ultrasound; it was even more special because both my parents and both Robert's parents (and Uncle G!) were able to come as well. If you remember (I don't blame you if you don't), last time I was a little weirded out by the 3D/4D Ultrasound because Mila looked more like an alien than she did a little baby and I didn't really like the experience at all. This time we went a few weeks later so there was more fat on Nellie and she was more filled out.
We confirmed right off the bat that Nellie is still a girl! It was kinda funny because that "ghost" looking shadow below next to the arrow she called a HAMBURGER is actually Nellie's girl parts. I feel like all girls should just call it "their hamburger" from now on?
My placenta is still on the front of my stomach, and coincidentally Nellie is now laying under it, so it was a little tricky to get photos but we were able to get a few. She was so squished in there, under the placenta, and spent most of the time with her toes in her face.
In this one we are looking right at her face, eyes closed, nose sorta smooshed in (but that's just a shadow as her nose is fully formed by now).
This one is looking at her straight on again; she is sorta looking down to the left in the picture with her mouth/lips in the almost exact middle of the picture.
What was really, truly amazing to see was her opening and shutting her eyes. She did it a couple times and we were able to get some photos of it. This is one of my favorite photos because her eyes are slightly opened and she's got a little smile going on.
Here are both eyes open:
Here you can see Nellie's profile with her (blurry) ear on the very right side of the photo. You can see her chubby cheek and that "thing" that she (her nose) is snuggled up against is my placenta.
The technician also confirmed that Nellie is laying across my stomach but appears to be on the way "head down;" this is fine with me as long as she's not headed "feet down!" The tech also said that she has lots of hair already and thinks that she looks like Robert (I couldn't tell if she was being serious?!).
Mila came to the appointment with us too and was slightly interested but mostly ran around the room playing. At the end, though, she climbed up on the bed with me and watched what the tech was doing; right before it was over she leaned over and kissed me. And my heart melted.
